Climbon Adventure – Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) Training Schedule
Day 0 – Arrival & Orientation (Campsite Setup Day)
Objective: Prepare the base camp, collect forms, organise resources, and set expectations.
- 2:00 PM
- Start from Hyderabad (carpool – organisers & participants).
- Ensure all equipment gear, groceries, medical kit, and logistics are loaded.
- 4:00 PM – Arrival at Camp
- Collect Medical Certificates & Disclaimer Forms from participants.
- Allocate tents, store equipment in designated tent.
- Arrange water supply – tank/drums & drinking water tins.
- Kitchen tent setup with groceries, utensils, stove/firewood.
- Campsite cleaning – all participants involved.
- Firewood collection team assigned.
- Pitch tents (participants learn under guidance).
- Setup flag point (central assembly spot).
- Waste management: dig dry pit & wet pit.
- Orientation briefing:
- No washroom facilities – natural surrounding use, maintain hygiene.
- Camp safety rules.
- 8:30 PM – Dinner (by organisers, Day 0 only)
- 9:30 PM – Briefing by Field Trainer
- Next day’s plan explained.
- 10:00 PM – Lights out / Sleep
Day 1 – Campsite Management & Basic Training
Objective: Discipline, introduction to mountaineering basics, teamwork.
- 4:30 AM – Wake-up call.
- 5:00 AM – Tea.
- 6:15 AM – Flag point gathering + Warm-up (45 min).
- 7:30 AM – Distribution of Climbon jersey, day backpack, rope chord, notebook & pen.
- 8:00 AM – Flag hoisting by President/Founder.
- Introduction of instructors & participants.
- Overview of training course.
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM – Classroom Session (Chief Instructor/Field Trainer)
- Terrain & environmental study.
- Climatic conditions & mountain terminology.
- History of mountaineering & key figures.
- Types of climbing (rock, ice, mixed).
- Mountaineering safety principles.
- Altitude sickness – symptoms, causes, prevention.
- High vs. low-altitude climbing.
- Importance of acclimatization.

- 1:30–3:30 PM – Short Hike & Scrambling Activity (Forest trail).
- 4:00 PM – Camp Skills Session (Trainer lead, participant practice)
- Rucksack packing (ABCs).

- Rope usage in camping.
- Firewood collection & campfire building.
- Cooking basics & waste management.
- Hygiene & sanitation.
- Leadership roles assigned – team work allocation.

Day 2 – Knots & Climbing Introduction
Objective: Learn ropes, knots, climbing principles, basic first aid.
- 5:00 AM – Wake-up.
- 5:10 AM – Tea & fresh-up.
- 6:15 AM – Warm-up (45 min).
- 7:00 AM – Briefing.
- 7:30–9:00 AM – Rope & Knots Training
- Rope types: loop, bight, hitch.
- Thumb knot (mother of all knots).
- Fisherman’s knot, Trucker’s hitch, Taut line hitch, Square knot.
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM – Classroom Session
- Himalayas overview & mountain movement.
- First Aid – Stage 1 (altitude sickness, frostbite, heatstroke, wounds).
- Climbing gear intro – harness, carabiners, figure of 8, nuts, cams, pitons, etc.
- 10:30 AM – Practical Climbing Session
- Knots: guide-man, end-man, middle-man, figure of eight, clove hitch, Italian hitch.
- Rock climbing principles, holds, bouldering, chimney climbing.
- Rope coiling practice.
- 1:00 PM – Lunch.
- 1:30 PM – Belaying Techniques (types of belaying, balancing drills).
- 4:00 PM – Return to campsite.
- 5:00 PM – Soup.
- 6:00 PM – Emergency shelter building exercise.
- 7:00 PM – Dinner (participants).
- 9:30 PM – Sleep.
Day 3 – Climbing & Rappelling
Objective: Apply knots in climbing, belaying, rappelling.
- 5:00 AM – Wake-up & tea.
- 6:15 AM – Warm-up.
- 7:00 AM – Briefing.
- 7:30–9:00 AM – Anchoring & Rappelling Basics
- Knots: Bowline, Bowline on a bight, Double loop figure of 8.
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM – Rock Climbing Practical
- Multipitch climbing (top & bottom belay).
- Rotate participants through all roles.
- 1:00 PM – Lunch.
- 1:30 PM – Rappelling Techniques
- Types: Shoulder, Abs, Standard, Australian, Rescue.
- Rappel knots + Prusik knots for safety.
- Tree climbing practice.
- 4:30 PM – Return to camp.
- 5:00 PM – Soup.
- 7:00 PM – Astro Navigation (night navigation using stars).
- 9:00 PM – Dinner.
Day 4 – Advanced Rappelling & Endurance
Objective: Endurance trek, survival skills, wilderness rescue.
- 5:00 AM – Wake-up. & Tea
- 6:15 AM – Warm-up.
- 7:00 AM – Briefing.
- 7:30–9:00 AM – Survival Knots Practice.
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM – Rappelling & Rescue Ops
- Continue rappelling activities.
- Rescue operations (casualty evacuation).
- 1:00 PM – Lunch.
- 1:30 PM – Session Continues
- Balancing, belaying, map reading, knife usage.
- 4:30 PM – Endurance Test & Survival Training
- Lifesaving knots.
- Wilderness first aid.
- Food search & preservation.
- Full backpack walk (4–5 km).
- 5:15 PM – Soup.
- 6:00 PM – Self-defence basics.
- 7:00 PM – Dinner.
Day 5 – Rescue & Terrain Crossing + Raft Building
Objective: River crossing, raft building, highland survival.
- 5:00 AM – Wake-up & tea.
- 6:15 AM – Warm-up.
- 7:00 AM – Briefing.
- 7:30–9:00 AM – Survival Knots (task-oriented)
- Fireman’s chair, stretcher knots.
- Zipline – river crossing.
- Crevasse rescue intro – ice pitons, pickets, snow flukes.
Ascending, Descending on Snow Slopes, Anchoring, Belaying, Self Arrest/Team arrest, Glissading
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM–1:00 PM – Water & Terrain Survival
- River crossing, kayaking, raft building.
- Cross rocks, rivers, gorges.
- Collect, filter & purify dirty water.
- 1:00 PM – Lunch.
- 1:30 PM – Continue Practical Sessions.
- 5:00 PM – Soup.
- 7:00 PM – Dinner.
Day 6 – Final Exam & Task Execution
Objective: Assess skills in climbing, knots, endurance & survival.
- 5:00 AM – Wake-up.
- 6:15 AM – Warm-up.
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM – Final Practical Test
- Climbing & rappelling exam.
- Knots test (individual).
- 1:00 PM – Lunch.
- 1:30 PM – Endurance & Navigation Task
- Search for food/water.
- Use navigation skills to locate task points.
- Establish camp independently.
- 8:30 PM – Dinner (prepared by teams).
Day 7 – Farewell & Closing Ceremony
Objective: Wrap up training, feedback, recognition, return.
- 5:00 AM – Wake-up & Tea
- 6:00 AM – Return to Base Camp.
- 7:30 AM – Final Written & Rope Test.
- 9:00 AM – Breakfast.
- 9:30 AM – Flag Down Ceremony (Founder/President/Instructor).
- 10:00 AM – Feedback from instructors – strengths & weaknesses.
- 11:00 AM – Handover equipment, campsite cleaning.
- 11:30 AM – Official course completion + group photos.
- 12:30 PM – Lunch on return journey.
